Position Summary
This position exists to provide coordination of programs between local elementary schools and the MSU Denver School of Education (SOE), specifically the Elementary Education Residency Program. The position requires travel among multiple schools in the Denver area and MSU Denver. This position includes teaching, advising and supervision of students in classes, field experiences, and seminars. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups. Duties/Responsibilities
Teaching and Advising (35%)
Teach day and/or evening courses in undergraduate program.
Demonstrate commitment to teaching and advising to the University.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of students from diverse, urban populations.

Supervision (25%)
Supervise students in the elementary clinical experiences within public schools, including the evaluation and coaching of residents.
Advise and coach students in courses and in residencies, including addressing individual learning plans, as needed.

Administrative (30%)
Serve as a liaison between schools and university in facilitating clinical placements.
Collaborate with university faculty in Elementary Education and Literacy, the director of Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships, and school district personnel.
Facilitate seminars and coordinate professional development for residents and resident mentors.

Curriculum and Program Assessment (10%)
Participate in overall assessment of the Residency and provide input into the Elementary program curriculum.
Work effectively with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and teach elementary and literacy education courses.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in field related to teacher education.

Preferred Qualifications
Elementary K-6 teaching license.
Professional college or university teaching experience in elementary education including hybrid or online delivery.
Professional teaching experience working with children, families and communities in elementary settings.
Professional experience engaged in teacher education, with specific experience teaching elementary content methods, classroom management, assessment, or curriculum and instruction.
Experience supervising field experiences for diverse preservice teachers.
Experience collaborating in partnership with K-6 schools.
Demonstration of current professional knowledge concerning issues in the field of elementary education and literacy.
Demonstrated work experience in regards to the educational needs of diverse urban populations.
Experience supervising preservice teachers in PreK-12 schools or educational settings. Demonstrated knowledge of Colorado requirements for teacher licensure.
Demonstrated understanding of assessment practices related to teaching and teacher preparation.
Ability to work in a mutually respectful way with faculty and administrators in university and PreK-12 settings, including district level administration.
Demonstrated ability to provide support and accountability to students at varied developmental levels in their professional growth.
Endorsement or specialization in culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) education, English as a Second Language (ESL), bilingual education, and/or differentiation within the general education classroom for diverse populations.
