Ithaca College's Department of Theatre Arts invites applications for a full-time, one-year position in Theatre Production & Design, with emphases in Theatre Technology: Scenic, Lights & Sound for our top-ten ranked theatre department, beginning August 16, 2018. Teach in the B.F.A. Theatre Production & Design area, which may include Drafting & Model Building, Tech I: Scenic Construction and Tech I: Lighting & Sound Technology, and production supervision in theatre technology for six main stage productions per year. Collaborate with the Production Associate, design mentors, technical director, scenic artist, lighting & sound supervisor, costume shop manager, scene shop/properties supervisor in the scenery, props, and paint areas. Active participation in departmental shared governance through service, advising, and recruitment is required for all faculty positions. There are no scholarship/professional activity requirements for this one-year position. MFA in theatre technology and/or significant, equivalent experience preferred in lighting, sound and scenic technology. The ideal candidate will have active professional experience represented by a diverse technical portfolio, knowledge of and experience with ETC/IOS line, moving light technology (ClayPaky and Varilight), Yamaha digital consoles, networking and standard TCP/IP protocols, and exhibit strong collaborative and communication skills.

The Department of Theatre Arts finds its home in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College. The Department, which has been an integral part of the College since 1897 (five years after its founding), has approximately 360 majors and offers five degree programs and two minors.
For more than 70 years the Department of Theatre Arts has drawn students from across the United States and around the world. With over 30 faculty, all of whom are professionals in their individual fields of study, we embrace professional standards in the studio, classroom, and production laboratory.
