Medical Oncology Inpatient APP Job Description

Your major responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Provide direct patient care for patients admitted to the solid tumor inpatient service.
• Admit patients, enter orders, call consults, perform supervised procedures, communicate with outpatient providers, arrange patient discharge needs, discharge patients, prepare discharge summaries, attend multidisciplinary rounds, interact with patients, families, staff and contribute to a quality improvement (QI) project.
• Provide rotating daily coverage of the 9300 admission pager from 7 am to 7pm.

Weekend/Holiday coverage:
Full 7-day coverage will be provided by the APP team. You will be expected to cover, on average, 1 weekend per month as well as rotating holiday coverage with your peers.

Education
Work requires a bachelor's degree in Health Science and a Physician Assistant Certificate of Registration with the North Carolina Medical Board or be certification eligible, and be certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
