Web Communications is responsible for managing all aspects of the university's online presence and overall Web strategy. Web Communications directs, manages and implements the university's Web content strategy, development, design, consistent brand messaging, online marketing strategies, user experience and interaction design for NC State's Web presence. Essential Job Duties: The incumbent of this position will be responsible for technical web development of the university's online strategy, central web presence (www.ncsu.edu), strategic constituent sites and various online public communications channels. Continually enhance complex mobile-friendly websites and applications for the central university Web presences using advanced techniques to produce interactive sites in a manner consistent with the university's programming and Web development standards. This position will assist in further developing the university's digital strategy, focusing on development of responsive (mobile-friendly) web frameworks. This role will also manage multiple web projects for Web Communications and strategic constituents from strategy through implementation. Projects include ongoing development such as an interactive news experts web app and other interactive database systems in use by campus partners. We are seeking applicants who can create and continually enhance PHP frameworks for web applications, mobile-friendly sites and content management systems to aide in all aspects of the university's digital strategy, including the central Web presence, strategic constituent sites, various online public-facing communications channels as well as meeting the digital needs of various chargeback campus partners. Build custom application solutions utilized not only by University Communications, but by campus partners. The incumbent will also assist in providing support to campus partners as they use tools produced by Web Communications.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: Knowledge of web application, HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, information architecture and responsive application development. Familiarity with Content Management Systems, SEO, and using third-party APIs in development. Working knowledge of WordPress, jQuery, ADA Accessibility/Section 508 compliance, web application development processes and SQL. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast- paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of testing on major browsers and exposure to cross-browser/platform compatibility issues. Customer service oriented in working effectively and comfortably with external and internal constituents and stakeholders.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: 5-7 years of experience in business applications consulting or development making great websites. Knowledge of information architecture and responsive design and native Android/iOS application development. Familiarity with Content Management Systems, SEO, and Social Media api development. Working knowledge of Wordpress, jQuery, ADA Accessibility/Section 508 compliance.
