Position Summary: The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (OSSA) seeks a creative, enthusiastic, and organized individual for the position of Assistant Director for Communications. This is a full-time, permanent position within the University that will be housed in the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid and will coordinate with the Assistant Director of Communications in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The person in the position reports directly to the Associate Provost and Director of the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid. The Assistant Director of Communications will be responsible for exercising authority to independently develop communications strategies and respond to public and media inquiries. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated approach for communicating with students, parents and colleagues, and will work closely with the Assistant Director for Outreach in publicizing and promoting OSSA and its financial aid programs. The Assistant Director for Communications will oversee all communications issued by the office, including collecting and publishing student stories for use with the media and donors, writing letters and creating other materials for stewardship and donor solicitation, editing informational brochures, updating the OSSA website and appropriate social media, creating and editing an annual report, and reviewing and editing communications sent to students. In addition, the Assistant Director will oversee the development of other media for OSSA, including creating photographs and video, managing social media postings, managing and maintaining web content, and providing creative support in the development of presentation materials.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
