RESEARCH SPECIALIST A/B
Duties: Research Specialist A: Under supervision of the PI or a postdoctoral fellow, the research specialist perform research related to single-cell genomics, epigenomeediting and human stem cell biology using standard molecular and cell biology techniques including: molecular cloning, cell culture, real-time PCR, and next generation sequencing library preparation. Specialist will also analyze data using appropriate software, order lab supplies, and maintain lab equipment.
The Research Specialist B position will undertake the duties outlined for the Research Specialist A position, with the additional expectation that the candidates will develop novel solutions to research questions in addition to employing established methods. They should also be able to analyze data using the appropriate software. Moreover, it is expected the Research Specialist B will have greater laboratory experience making greater contributions to more complex questions, working independently.
Qualifications: Research Specialist A: Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience in molecular and cellular biology or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Research Specialist B: Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3years of research experience in molecular and cellular biology or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior experience with cell culture, DNA/RNA purification, molecular cloning and next generation sequencing, library preparation and quality check preferred.
