Position Summary: This position is a primary staff position in the Sports Medicine Section of the Campus Health Service. The Athletic Trainer is expected to provide athletic training services for all students including varsity and non-varsity athletes; to act as an athletic trainer for specific UNC teams-currently working with our Soccer Program; and to participate actively in the clinical supervision of graduate and undergraduate students in curriculum programs for Athletic Training in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. In addition, the Athletic Trainer will participate in the clinical instruction of the many health care professionals-in-training, Residents and medical students on the Sports Medicine Service and other allied health student that are involved in affiliations with the Sports Medicine Program. Where appropriate, he/she may participate in the research activities carried out by the Sports Medicine Program.

Education Requirements: The minimum level of formal education necessary to perform the duties of the athletic trainer is the Master's Degree with NATA Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer as well as NC Athletic Trainer Licensure.

Qualification and Experience: Must have or be eligible for North Carolina athletic trainer licensure and have two years of work experience with either Division 1A intercollegiate athletics. Prefer three years full-time work experience in a college athletic training setting; prefer experience with soccer and supervising student athletic trainers; and clinical research experience.
