Position Summary: This position serves as Director of Outreach, Education & Training at the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center's (IPRC). S/he leads the IPRC's Outreach Core and Education & Training Core. The position oversees and manages the operations of these Cores and supervises the work of staff members in these Cores. Both Cores support the mission of IPRC by a) disseminating evidence-based injury & violence prevention strategies and information, b) providing training and educational opportunities for academic and non-academic injury prevention professionals, and c) by building the capacity of communities to develop, implement, and evaluate injury and violence prevention (IVP) strategies. This position reports to the IPRC Director and Associate Director. This position develops and leads activities that engage with local community groups, municipalities, and state agencies with a focus on meeting injury and violence needs. This position develops strategic plans for the IPRC's Outreach Core and Education & Training Core in collaboration with the IPRC Director and Associate Director. This position interacts with IPRC's key stakeholder partners to a) strengthen IPRC's strategic alliances with key IPV stakeholders and b) identifies and implements strategic goals that are shared between IPRC and key IVP stakeholders. This position operates with a high degree of independence in directing the activities of the IPRC's Outreach Core and Education & Training Core and their associated activities. This position requires someone is forward-planning in terms of projecting personnel needs and project work tasks, and is flexible and responsive to project, funder, and Center needs.

Education Requirements: Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required. Minimum of a Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, or other relevant field.

Qualification and Experience: Experience ensuring high quality conceptualization and implementation of training programs, resources and services. Experience in leadership, supervision, management and implementation of projects in diverse topics and settings. Demonstrated organization, management and communication skills. Knowledge of the science of developing and delivering public health oriented programs relevant in the field of injury/violence prevention. Prior experience in developing, expanding, and managing collaborations with federal/state government agencies (domestic and global), not-for-profits, and community-based groups, is strongly preferred. Exposure to at least one injury/violence prevention area (eg. sexual violence, falls prevention, opioid overdose prevention) is strongly preferred.
