DIRECTOR OF ADVISING
Duties: The Director of Advising in the Wharton Undergraduate Division is responsible for all academic advising operations serving 2500 undergraduate students. The Director supervises the academic advising team and manages all aspects of the advising process, training, budget management, data analysis, and documentation. The Director of Advising also serves in a senior management role, collaborating with Division leadership to provide comprehensive strategic leadership and vision for advising and academic support programming.
Qualifications: A Master's Degree or more and 4 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree in higher education, student services, or related field is strongly preferred. Progressively responsible work and supervision of staff in a university setting is highly preferred. Experience with academic advising and work with college population is preferred. Must have proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others including senior administrators, and must possess superior project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills are priorities, as is a commitment to helping others, tolerance for ambiguity, ability to motivate and develop staff, and sense of perspective.
