Advertised Job Summary: Under general supervision, reporting to the Director of Development for the College of Education, the Assistant Director of Development supports the management and operations of Development and Alumni Relations through lead annual gift fundraising, sponsorship development, alumni engagement programming, special event planning and volunteer management for the College of Education. Responsible for building and directing the lead annual gift alumni solicitation program of donor/prospect portfolios for the College of Education. Creates and implements alumni and donor events and programs designed to strengthen relationships with alumni and donors. Develops stewardship strategies for assigned donors and oversee implementation. Supports and manages special events and outreach initiatives as assigned. Supports and manages volunteer initiatives as assigned. This position will operate within the system and procedures of Development to ensure consistent and well-coordinated activities.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research, or business development. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to conduct regular day travel and/or overnight travel in SC, NC and GA. Ability to conduct more extensive travel on occasion. Occasional evenings and/or weekend work required primarily around special events.
