Advertised Job Summary: Under limited supervision, reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Advancement Services, the Senior Director of Prospect Research Services leads a comprehensive development research program working across departments, directs and administers the prospect research program for the Development and Alumni Relations division. Responsible for identifying and recommending the most promising major gift, principal gift, and leadership gift-level prospects for the University system through research, data analytics, and prospect identification. The Senior Director supervises research analysts who provide support to the Development and Alumni Relations division and is an integral part of developing and updating research policies and procedures; identifying new ways to secure the latest biographical and financial information of current and potential major gift donors from public resources and assisting in the maintenance of this information in the constituent donor database. The Senior Director personally handles research requests that are presidential, vice presidential and trustee related, special research requests, and other VIP research, as needed. The Senior Director also oversees the distribution of research requests to team members. Establishes standardized formats for research in varying degrees of depth to suit a variety of development purposes. Set standards of accuracy, completeness, timeliness and collaboration for all projects completed by team members. Most importantly, the Senior Director articulates a vision and plan for how the Prospect Research team can most efficiently and effectively support the Development and Alumni Relations divisions in achieving their goals. This vision and plan grow out of a deep knowledge of current best practices in the areas of prospect research, wealth screenings, data analytics, wealth assessments and capacity ratings. Serves as a member of the Advancement Services Management Team (ASMT).
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree and 7 years related program management experience, or bachelor's degree and 9 years related experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Required to travel to conferences as part of continual educational development and professional growth.
