Position Summary: The Staff Assistant, Development Coordinator will provide direction and supervision to the phonathon solicitation program, while also managing the electronic media infrastructure for online fundraising events and solicitations

Essential Duties: 1. Manage all aspects of the phonathon solicitation program, including recruitment, training, and supervision of student fundraisers and phonathon software. Work with the Director of Development to synchronize phonathon and electronic media solicitation strategy, sequencing and segmentation with those of the direct mail program. Work with colleagues in Advancement Services to ensure timely and accurate data entry and follow-through. Evenings and weekend work is required roughly 20 weeks of the year (10 in the fall/10 in spring semester) to manage calling shifts, though occasional shifts may be delegated to other staff and/or phonathon supervisors. 2. Implement electronic media fundraising event promotion, registration and solicitations for activities affiliated with the Division of University Advancement and its various partners across campus. This includes creating segmented email blasts, customized event registration and giving forms, and construction of various on-line giving pages as well as website maintenance. It will require collaboration with staff in Alumni Relations and Marketing and Communications to capture content and ensure cohesive messaging in electronic communications across constituencies. 3. Work with the Director of Development to administer annual fundraising efforts involving social media, online giving, text-to-give and crowdfunding to retain and acquire donors. Specific programs include but are not limited to: Giving Day, Employee Campaigns, Athletics / Crimson Pride Club Challenge, and the Falmouth Road Race. Utilize technology and build relationships to leverage campus partnerships for these efforts. 4. Provide the Director of Development with regular progress reports depicting performance of the phonathon and electronic solicitation programs. Conduct annual assessments to evaluate the efficacy of the programs in reaching university fundraising goals and participate in formulating subsequent strategy adjustments for going-forward. 5. Assist the Director of Development by proofreading and editing annual direct mail appeals and various segmented mailing efforts. 6. Ensure the pipeline for Major Gifts and Campaign Giving by monitoring and reporting Annual Giving to identify individual donors with leadership gift potential, working in collaboration with the prospect researcher to create prospect profiles. 7. Ensure the timely capture and recording of data relating to phonathon callers' interactions with prospects using a moves management system in Raiser's Edge and NXT. 8. Assist with a variety of University Advancement projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required. * Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. * Minimum of one to three years of professional experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum one to three years of development or related experience preferred. * Proficient in social media applications and electronic communication. * Strong attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills. * Excellent command of general business etiquette and professional demeanor. * Proficiency or desire to develop analytical skills. * Administrative and database management skills. * Ability to manage and motivate student employees on deadline and to goal. * Ability to multitask * Team oriented with a 'can-do' attitude and ability to work creatively under stress. * Demonstrates a commitment to student success and a desire to advance BSU.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000
