Postdoctoral Scholar - Statistics

The Statistics Department at UC Irvine has a full-time position available for a Postdoctoral Scholar. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or expected by Fall 2018) in statistics or related fields. The position entails performing research in the area of forensic statistics as part of the Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE). CSAFE is a NIST-funded center of excellence located at Iowa State University with collaborators at UC Irvine, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Virginia. The research involves the development of probabilistic and statistical methods for the analysis and interpretation of pattern evidence (e.g., shoe prints, fingerprints, bloodstains, handwriting, firearms) or digital evidence.

The appointment starting in Fall of 2018 is for one year initially, but can be extended. The salary for this position begins at $49,188 but is also contingent on knowledge and experience. The position is dependent upon extramural funding.
