DIRECTOR OF MAJOR GIFTS
Misericordia University, a Catholic, comprehensive, liberal arts university in Dallas, Pennsylvania, invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Director of Major Gifts. The new Director will join a committed advancement team during an exciting time in the University’s growth and progress including the Now for Tomorrow campaign.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished fundraiser who has had progressive and successful development experience in major gifts with a record of success in personally soliciting major gifts and successful portfolio management. In this important work, the Director must have the ability to understand the needs and interests of new major donors in order to develop and nurture long-term relationships between them and the University.
The Director will be responsible for creating and implementing a robust plan for major gift fundraising including the identification of new major gift donors and constituents and attention to the re-engagement of past major gift leaders in the region and across the country. The advancement team seeks an individual with creative and forward-thinking approaches in the development of proposal strategies for solicitation of major gifts and portfolio management.
Leadership within the advancement team will be an integral part of the directorship. The Director will supervise, mentor, and work closely with the Leadership Gifts Officer to develop and implement the solicitation plan. In addition, this position will work seamlessly with the other Advancement Directors and Managers to ensure effective coordination and collaboration of effort with their programs and processes in order to re-invigorate and sustain the prospect relationship continuum.
