Position Summary

The candidate should demonstrate expertise in criminology/victimology or criminal justice with a record of research related to cybercrime and/or cyber-security. Cybercrime includes computer hacking, digital piracy, electronic fraud and theft, bullying, stalking, and sexual victimization. Interest in cross-disciplinary research and participating in education programs integrating criminal justice with such disciplines as computer science, engineering, communication arts, business, journalism, sociology, or psychology is an advantage. 

Required Degree

Doctorate -Criminology or Criminal Justice

Minimum Requirements
  • Ph.D. in criminology or criminal justice, or in a relevant social science field is required. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. prior to the position start date.
  • Substantive, theoretical, and/or methodological strengths that relate, or are applicable, to addressing cybercrime and/or cyber-security.
  • Record of effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels commensurate with rank of appointment.
  • Record of scholarly publications commensurate with rank of appointment.
  • Record of success in securing extramural funding for research projects commensurate with rank of appointment.
