Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
The College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) seeks an inspiring and inclusive servant leader as the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The next provost of CCGA will have the opportunity to build upon a decade of expansion and innovation in partnership with the new president, Michelle Johnston, Ph.D. The community is poised to build CCGA’s stature as a leader in access education in the region and beyond. CCGA’s next provost will be an energetic and creative leader with the experience and capacity to capitalize on the College’s remarkable success.
The provost is the College’s chief academic officer and the senior member of the President’s Cabinet, providing leadership for the faculty and working collaboratively with the various constituencies to carry out the mission of the College. The provost is responsible for fostering academic excellence, providing guidance in the development of the curriculum, planning and implementation of academic policies, the management of academic services, and overseeing the overall budget for all academic units.
The successful candidate will have a distinguished record in teaching and academic administration as well as a deep commitment to academic quality and student success coupled with an understanding of public higher education, particularly in the context of a complex state system. The provost will be an academic leader of vision and energy, have an inclusive and empowering leadership style and demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth and diversity of both faculty and students. The provost will be a strong communicator, foster collaborations across campus and possess the collegial and transparent values necessary to lead within an environment of academic shared-governance. Recent experience with regional accreditation will be a plus. An earned doctorate or an appropriate terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution and the qualifications to hold tenure and the rank of professor in one of the College’s programs are required.
