COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST AND PROJECT COORDINATOR, MIT Teaching and Learning Lab (T+LL), to work with the director, associate directors, administrative assistant, faculty, students, and staff on T+LL’s programs and services in support of its mission.

Communications responsibilities include developing and executing T+LL’s communication strategy in order to effectively publicize its programs and events, and disseminating content and materials throughout MIT and to the national and international teaching and learning communities.  This will include leading and executing a redesign of and maintaining and updating the T+LL website; writing short articles and descriptions related to T+LL’s work and accomplishments; creating and managing a contacts database; creating program- and event-related print materials; and coordinating and managing the T+LL Speaker Series.  Project management responsibilities include establishing the schedules and methods for achieving project goals and objectives and coordinating with leadership; and developing organizational tools such as project plans, timelines, meeting agendas, conceptual models, and implementation plans for the execution of complex projects.

REQUIRED:  B.A./B.S.; at least two-years’ communication experience, including some program coordination experience; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff in a research-intensive university setting; excellent writing and listening skills; customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills; meticulous attention to detail; good judgment and problem-solving abilities; ability to prioritize tasks, perform multiple job responsibilities, meet deadlines, and handle and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision/assistance in a dynamic and high-pressure environment; and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and database software (Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, etc.). Knowledge of project management software and web design experience a plus.
