Primary Function of Organization Unit: College of Humanities and Social Sciences Business Services, a division of the Dean's Office, provides direction and support related to strategic resource planning and implementation, resource projection and analysis, budgetary allocation, organization development, performance management, financial expertise and processes, and human resource expertise and processes. The HR Services Team provides expertise in human resource administration, develops policies, and manages processes for position control and classification, recruitment and hiring, salary administration and compensation, employment, HR transactions and data management, compliance, payroll, workforce planning, leave administration, performance evaluation, and separation for EHRA Tenure Track and Non-Tenure Track faculty, EHRA non-faculty, post docs, SHRA staff, adjuncts and visitors, no-pay employees, graduate assistants, temporary employees, and student workers.
Essential Job Duties: The HR Specialist is a member of the college HR Services team serving as the liaison between central HR and administration for assigned departments/units within the college. As a member of the HR Services team, the HR Specialist assists with the establishment and implementation of HR processes in the college and ensures compliance with university policies for EHRA Tenure Track and Non-Tenure Track Faculty, EHRA Non-Faculty, Post Docs, SHRA, adjuncts and visitors, and no-pay employees related to position control and classification, recruitment and hiring, salary administration, compensation, HR data management, HR transactions, and separation. The department/units assigned to this HR Specialist are Communication, English, Foreign Languages & Literatures, History, and Interdisciplinary Studies, Academic Affairs, Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media, Masters of Arts Liberal Studies, (assignments may change based on business needs)
