Job Summary: This newly created leadership role is an exceptional opportunity for an innovative leader to coordinate and support high-impact experiential learning. In November of 2017, the Roosevelt University Undergraduate Council and University Senate approved a revision to the University's general education, now referred to as the CORE. A key component to this revision is requiring students to take two courses identified as experiential learning before they graduate from Roosevelt University. The Director of Experiential Learning (EL) will work with the provost's office, university colleges, individual faculty, and other university personnel to build community partnerships and successfully implement these new CORE requirements for EL courses. The Director of EL supervises the Professional Mentoring Coordinator, a graduate assistant and works closely with the Assistant Provost for Core Curriculum and Assessment, the directors of Career Development, Academic Advising, in addition to faculty and students, to assure available opportunities for students to complete their experiential learning course requirements. In addition, the Director of EL will lead ongoing assessment and program improvement for experiential learning, part of which will be done through the use of a required student e-portfolio. This is a full-time, exempt, at-will administrative position that reports to the Associate Provost of Student Success.

Working Hours:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: A Master's degree A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in higher education in experiential/service learning program administration. Recent professional experience supervising employees. Experience and demonstrated capacity working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Strong analytical and organizational skills to sort and prioritize deadlines and work within the department to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Excellent interpersonal skills with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels both inside and outside the University. Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. A positive and professional demeanor. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in outreach and development. Experience in course facilitation and/or teaching experience at a college or university. Experience administering faculty development programs. Experience with Ellucian Banner student database Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs Experience with campus program assessment.
