RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to have additional assistance in conducting experiments related to multiple ongoing projects examining the underlying genetic basis of psychiatric disease. The primary functions of this position will be to prepare samples for florescence assisted cell sorting, isolating and evaluating nucleic acids, construction and evaluation of samples for next generation sequencing, and preparation of cloned PCR samples for Sanger sequencing. Additional responsibilities include supervision of undergraduate students, maintenance of lab equipment, ordering supplies, adhering to EHRS standards and maintaining safe practices in the lab.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
