The Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL) is a high volume diagnostic laboratory that provides a broad range of veterinary diagnostic testing services to approximately 2,500 clients. Laboratories are located both in Madison and in Barron.
This position is located in the Madison lab and performs a wide variety of administrative activities in the areas of financial administrative support, human resources administrative support, purchasing support, travel arrangements, and records management for a laboratory employing approximately 100 permanent/project staff and student hourly employees. This position also provides program and administrative support to the Director and Section Heads in a wide variety of administrative areas.
The employee in this position is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and central campus administrative contacts. Professional communications, workplace sensitivity and diplomacy are essential. Position responsibilities require the exercise of individual initiative, independent judgment, and confidentiality and discretion. Work is performed under general supervision by the University Business Specialist Supervisor, using independent judgment and in conformance with established WVDL and UW-Madison procedures, methods, and policies.
Monday - Friday, start and stop times are negotiable within established core hours.
