Job Summary: The Sr. Instructional Designer serves as a consultant to faculty to conceptualize, design, develop, deliver, and assess high quality online and hybrid courses. Partners with college faculty to develop and implement comprehensive, coordinated programs, curriculum, systems and support for faculty and instructional development that promote excellence and innovation in teaching and learning. This is a full-time, exempt position located on the Chicago Campus. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Technology Solutions.

Working Hours:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: A Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field. Teaching experience at the higher education level desired. A minimum of 5 years experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard, D2L or Sakai. Clear understanding of curricular development, learning theories, and academic assessment. Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Teaching or training experience, preferably with adult learners. Superior communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization. Ability to motivate faculty. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects/tasks while keeping to strict deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. A positive and professional demeanor is a must. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree preferred. Knowledge of distance education pedagogy and adult learning theories required.
