ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER (Finance)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the budgeting, analysis, and financial reporting of DMPI's financial portfolio, including grants, contracts, gifts and endowment income. Monitor DMPI performance against any established financial and grant management metrics.
  • Provide shared oversight for administration procedures and processes, including the FAM process.
  • Ensure all faculty receive monthly financial reporting and analysis of their financial portfolio, with primary emphasis on their research portfolio and ensure the effective management and reporting of effort for all faculty and staff included in the financial portfolio.
  • Supervise all DMPI grants staff and provide administrative oversight of the effectiveness of both DMPI's research support personnel and the associated administrative processes and procedures. Provide guidance and support in resolving problems that would be disruptive to the normal workflow of the research administration process.
  • Develop the annual budgets and other forecasts (as required) for DMPI's research portfolio, and subsequent analysis and reporting of any significant actual to budget variances.
  • Perform other financial and administrative duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Work requires a general business background generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Work requires 4 years related business or administrative experience to acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative functions. A master's degree in a business related field may be substituted for 2 years' experience.
