Summary of the Position

Reporting to the Sr. Associate Director, Annual Giving and Advancement Relations, the Assistant Director will serve as a primary liaison and program manager for Young Alumni engagement, student engagement efforts, and Homecoming Weekend.

Essential Functions

Create and execute a comprehensive young alumni engagement, programming, fundraising and marketing strategy (in partnership with Annual Giving and Advancement Communications) to demonstrate this segment as a critical component of the institution's philanthropic efforts.

Establish a pipeline of engaged young alumni (1-15 years out) through collaboration with faculty, divisional and departmental relationships, and current students.

Build a cohort of deeply engaged young alumni volunteers.

Advise the Student Alumni Leadership Council (in conjunction with Annual Giving) to build and grow an engagement and philanthropic culture that would directly benefit Bentley and educate the student community of its importance.

Identify and implement ways to infuse the alumni experience, resources and networks in the UG student experience throughout all 4 years.

Create, coordinate, manage and execute the annual Homecoming program, highlighting specific engagement for young alumni throughout the day.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor's degree with 1 – 3 years relevant experience. Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.

Demonstrated success in planning and implementing multi-faceted programs. Exceptional organizational abilities, customer service background and attention to detail. Strong written and oral communications skills. Excellent technology skills and knowledge of software applications used in advancement work. Can balance complex needs from multiple constituencies and high levels of expectations from upper management regarding the deliverables.

Some travel required. Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education and event planning preferred. Familiarity with technology and communication platforms (iModules, Millennium, Cognos) preferred.
