Job description

Research Associate position on the eBravo Grant. You would be a key member of a team that is using Cognitive principles to develop technology based literacy tools and instruction to enhance content area classroom learning. This work is funded by a new grant from the Dept. of Education. The candidate will assist in implementing, supervising and assessing a middle school reading technology-based curriculum in schools in the Boulder/Denver area. Applicants should have training in cognition, educational research statistical approaches such as HLM, and a commitment to educational research. This work will require that you work with school district personnel; teachers, principals, and high level administrators to help them understand how our research can positively impact their educational goals. In addition, you will also participate in preparing journal articles and other forms of data dissemination, as well as proposals for funding for follow-on projects. Candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in cognitive and/or educational psychology or related field and have a strong background in educational/psychological research methods. Experience with schools, curriculum development, literacy research, educational technology development and/or machine learning are relevant to this project and would be viewed as a plus. This job is currently 50% time with benefits, but has the potential of becoming full-time, depending upon future grant funding.
