    The UCI Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is looking for a postdoctoral scholar, salary range from $48,216 to $54,228 per year (based on experience and qualifications), in the area of Electricity Distribution Cybersecurity.

    A Ph.D. degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, is required. Applicants should have expertise in at least one or preferably all of the following areas:

    i. Power System
    ii. Power Electronics
    iii. Energy Conversion

    The successful candidates will report to Professor Keyue Smedley and collaborate with researchers in UCI, UCR, UCLA, UCSB, LLNL, and LBNL to develop new strategies for mitigating vulnerabilities, detecting intrusion, and protecting against detrimental system wide impact. The research will focus on electricity distribution cybersecurity. A high-quality publication record and strong written and spoken communication skills are required. Proactive attitude, multidisciplinary team player, and attention to details are desirable.

    The initial appointment will be for 12 months, and renewable subject to performance and availability of adequate funding. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
