Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Poole College of Management offers the Master of Business Administration, the Master of Accounting, and the Global Luxury Management program, along with masters and Ph.D. degrees in economics. At the undergraduate level, the college offers degrees in accounting, business administration, and economics. The high-value, top-ranked NC State Jenkins MBA Program delivers hands-on learning that anticipates the demands of today's global marketplace, teaming up with industry leaders to immerse students in real-world projects that combine nimble thinking with innovative solutions. NC State offers the MBA full-time, part-time (evening) and online; there are currently just over 700 enrolled students. Evening classes are offered in Nelson Hall on NC State's campus as well as in a classroom facility in Research Triangle Park. The Director of Advising and Student Affairs will serve as a leader to the advising team whose primary responsibility is to work directly with students with regards to program requirements, as well as develop and implement a variety of extra- and co-curricular programs and initiatives that enhance the overall student experience.

Essential Job Duties: The Director is an integral member of the Jenkins team and will work collaboratively with, and across the various MBA platforms to include Full-time, Professional Evening and Online programs, as well as with the Admissions, Career, and Marketing teams. The director will serve as the primary administrative lead to the advising and student affairs team where efforts will focus on student advising, course scheduling, project management and event planning related to orientation, graduation, residencies and other student experiences and community building events. This person will represent the Jenkins MBA Program while working with students, faculty, staff, program leadership, as well as campus and other external vendors. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of MBA Programs. Responsibilities: * Manage the advising team which consists of one advisor each for full-time, evening and online students * Advise students during peak times to include registration for continuing students as well as initial advising appointment for new students * In collaboration with the associate and assistant deans, manage course scheduling for the three platforms and the two campuses * Oversee programming and delivery of the annual Full-time Orientation as well as the four Raleigh Residencies per year * Create and maintain the various Moodle sites to include Orientation, MBA Launch and Raleigh Residencies * Collaborate with the assistant dean and the advising team to create a strong student community by directing and offering various co- and extra-curricular activities and events * Manage the variety of student communications to include email, web and social media; done in collaboration with the assistant dean, admissions and marketing team members * Develop and oversee a degree audit system; responsible for the development and maintenance of data collection and record keeping systems * Create and steward positive working relationships across campus to include the Graduate School, Registration and Records, the Office of International Studies and the Cashier's Office * Research and propose leadership development opportunities for students across all platforms * Manage larger annual events to include the Women's Conference, the Grand Business Challenge and two graduations - combined Poole College ceremony in December and the May graduate hooding ceremony * Develop and oversee the budget for student affairs and events * Assist in preparing a variety of program reports and responding to external surveys * Collaborate with the advising team in working with the MBASA [MBA Student Association for Full-time students] and the PMBA Delegates [Professional Part-time and Online student liaisons] * Manage the advising and student affairs web pages

Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree required in Higher Education, Business or related field Five or more years of advising and/or student affairs experience. Supervisory experience required.
