Duties: The Associate Director for Penn Health-Tech will work side-by-side with the Executive Director and be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of Penn Health-Tech to advance the center's mission. This will include supporting and managing educational programs, symposia and other cross-disciplinary events which will include students, faculty and staff. In order to support and manage these programs, the candidate will be arranging space, equipment, materials, and catering, and also developing and executing the marketing strategies to promote the events. Over time, the candidate will be expected to liaise directly with the event speakers in order to curate content and determine the agenda for the programming. The successful candidate will oversee event planning for both monthly small PHT events, as well as large scale annual events and specific study challenges. The desired candidate is adaptable, organized, and is comfortable driving initiatives independently, including working on industry initiatives which include collaborations external to Penn with industry leading organizations and assisting the Executive Director in interactions and collaborations with students, faculty, staff and other universities. This individual will have ownership over these initiatives from end to end: they will collaborate with the Executive Committee on strategy development, and operationalize the plan from logistics and scheduling to liaising directly with decision makers to execute on the strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, Penn Health-Tech, the Associate Director will be responsible for collaborating with Working Committees across Penn Health-Tech to deliver on projects. Example projects may include, developing and collating content for the Penn Health-Tech website and social media platforms, or developing standard templates for project teams, as well as interacting with vendors, donors and the Philadelphia Community. The Associate Director will be responsible for developing the communication strategy for the center. This person will be responsible for on-going content creation including newsletters, website content, and insuring consistency with the PHT brand. This person will also be responsible for collaborating with the executive director to create a bi-annual report to leadership on progress and plans for Penn Health-Tech. This report will include details on progress of the center's initiatives, budget, and strategic plan for the coming term. The individual will develop tracking mechanisms throughout the year to streamline the process of collecting information for the bi-annual report. This individual will assist in editing the report and will review with the Executive Director for final approval. The Associate Director will develop and maintain campus-wide relationships to foster the development of the Penn Health-Tech Expert Network and ecosystem of med tech entrepreneurs. This individual will develop these relationships by attending relevant events and networking on behalf of the center. In addition, this person will provide administrative support to the Penn Health-Tech office until such time as operations are large enough to require a dedicated administrative assistant.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required. MPH or advanced studies preferred.
