Position Summary: The Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease (CGIBD) is the stand-alone research department serving investigators who have an interest in digestive disease research. The goal of the CGIBD are to improve the environment for digestive disease research. The Center achieves these goals through scientific research cores that provide services, assays and animals, an enrichment program of seminars, vising professors and symposia, and pilot\feasibility awards to support career development. Application Analyst will be responsible for software development of web-based data capture, management and dissemination systems supporting gastroenterology research. This position will work with a team of scientists, operations staff and fellow developers.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or -Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or -Associate's degree in Computer Programming and one year of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires an additional one year of experience.

Qualification and Experience: The Application Analyst will be expected to have the following abilities: -Organizational skills and ability to plan -Ability to evaluate and implement project goals and objectives -Strong attention to detail -Ability to understand and describe complex processes -Ability to work independently and as a team member -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Database modeling and management -Familiarity with SQL database systems Proficiency in the following computer languages is required: PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (additional knowledge of JQuery is preferred) Experience with Ruby on Rails is preferred, but not required. Experience with development of smart phone applications a preferred, but not required. Knowledge of the following systems and tools is required: Git versioning system, Linux command line
