Position Summary

The Sustainability Education and Outreach Specialist reports to the Sustainability Coordinator for Operations. The primary purpose of the position is to:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive education and outreach programs for sustainability issues on campus.
  2. Edit and create communication materials, including but not limited to webpages, posters, flyers, and social media.
  3. Develop and give presentations to staff, faculty, student groups, and university classes.
  4. Advise students on sustainability related projects that are aimed to use the campus as a laboratory of sustainable practices.
  5. Supervise work-study employees, interns, volunteers and other students.
  6. Serve as advisor the Green Fund Committee and provide administrative and financial oversight to the execution of the Green Fund.

Minimum Qualifications

BACHELOR'S DEGREE AND ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • three (3) years full -time experience
  • advanced knowledge of sustainability principles and practices
    *advanced project and financial management experience
    *advanced skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously
    *advanced ability to position self with appropriate authority and professionalism relative to all stakeholders on campus and in the community


Alternate Option
