Degree and Area of Specialization:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum 2 years professional experience is required.

Desired qualifications:
1. Understanding of student development, racial identity development, intersections and complexity of social identities and social justice concepts.
2. Proven ability to manage multiple projects with complex logistics, including the successful management and supervision of student staff.
3. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, specifically, but not limited to, Latinx communities, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) communities, and Middle Eastern North African (MENA) communities.
4. Proven record of strong planning, coordination, organization, and evaluation skills.
5. Capacity to make difficult decisions quickly and flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
6. Strong communication skills (written, oral, and electronic).
7. Ability to facilitate identity-based dialogue groups, programs, and workshops.

Position Summary:

The position of Program Coordinator, Cultural Programs, is an integral member of the MSC?s Cultural Programming team. The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for collaborating with students ? as individuals and groups ? to successfully execute culturally relevant programs and initiatives that build community for students of color and their allies. The Program Coordinator establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships across campus units to serve students of color, specifically, but not limited to, Latinx communities, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) communities, and Middle Eastern North African (MENA) communities. Additional duties include positive contributions to the staff of the Multicultural Student Center and Division of Student Life and coaching and mentoring of students, including student staff. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Cultural Programming of the Multicultural Student Center.
