I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Division of External Relations is seeking a Senior Creative Project Manager. The division combines the communications, government relations, marketing and creative services and events functions of the university. This position will report to the Associate Director of Client Services.

Responsibilities include:
Working with communication leads across the university in the strategic development, direction and creation of websites and marketing collateral using print and multimedia applications, with the goal of promoting recruitment and retention across all schools.

Guides cross-functional teams in conceptualizing, developing and producing marketing materials, web sites and multimedia projects. Provides creative and strategic direction to achieve university goals and initiatives for External Relations and various offices around the university including, but not limited to, Division of Student Affairs, Executive Vice President Treasurer, Office of Vice President for Research and Provost Office.

Ensures efficiency of the work of the production team, including graphic designers, web editors, photographers and multimedia producers in the production of marketing materials from conceptualization to delivery; setting timelines, production schedules and budget allocations for each print and website project.

Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with key communication leads, collaborating on the development and creation of websites and marketing materials for recruitment and retention. Provides guidance and feedback to communication leads and their teams on the leveraging of university branding assets and identity guidelines.

Maintains responsibility for organizational processes including but not limited to: researching and teaching new creative techniques to staff in department; creating programming for staff creative retreats to increase communication and creativity skills in the department; contributing to improvements in online tracking system, photo library and project archives.

Attends and contributes to weekly production meetings for new projects and on-going project evaluation. Ensures proper distribution of materials both online and in print. Performs and participates in research to inform strategic development and direction of projects.

Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with technical and production aspects of print, web and multimedia marketing materials.

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

The ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.

Self-motivated, self-starter with exceptional oral and written skills.

Detail oriented and highly organized.

Proactive and works well independently and as part of a team.

Works well in high-volume deadline situations and can juggle multiple assignments.

Familiarity with Drupal, Slack and Trello are preferred but not required.
