Research Analyst Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research, Duke University Job Description:

The Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research at Duke University is seeking a research analyst to perform complex and independent activities involved in planning, organizing and conducting health research studies.

The research analyst will establish study procedures; contribute toward the enrollment of study participants; set up and conduct in-depth interviews with participants; collect other study data; participate in qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis activities; participate in the design, testing, and implementation of qualitative and quantitative surveys; manage project data; and code and analyze qualitative data.

The analyst will also support dissemination activities such as manuscript/report preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Confer with principal investigators in developing plans for research projects while working on a multidisciplinary team

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to develop and implement studies

• Participate in project maintenance activities (such as IRB protocol applications, reports)

• Participate in the development of protocols, operations manuals, and data collection instruments

• Create and manage databases for quantitative and qualitative data

• Participate in data collection, including tracking participants

• Set up interviews with appropriate authorities or participants and prepare correspondence and communications to participants

• Participate in coding and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data

• Participate in data interpretation and dissemination activities such as reporting for funding agencies and manuscript writing

• Supervise the work of lower level employees engaged in the collection and tabulation of data, including data analysis and synthesis (such as inferring findings from qualitative interviews); train new personnel

• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in a field related to the specific position.

Experience

Work requires four years of experience in research/data analysis or related position. A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g. a two year master's degree in lieu two years of experience.
