TPosition Description The Data Warehouse Architect (DWA) leads the definition of information architecture for a portion of the enterprise. The DWA defines the required information and the manner it should be accessed and managed, relative to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and/or Data Lake. They also define the way in which data should be structured, organized, created, moved and managed. The DWA focuses on data that is contained in the EDW, including master/reference data as opposed to data contained within a particular source application or database. The Data Warehouse Architect (DWA) is responsible for understanding documentation, quality and management of information in the EDW and Enterprise Reporting. The DWA is responsible for developing a strategy and framework to address data at rest (i.e., in databases) and at delivery points (i.e., interfaces and reporting). Job Responsibilities • Leads implementation of data warehousing vision, strategy and roadmaps for the organization • Accountable for building datawarehouse solutions • Provides oversight for ensuring appropriate Design Patterns are defined • Responsible for oversight of data warehouse and BI Security • Ensure compliance with regulatory and system validation requirements • Provides oversight for ETL Design • Provides oversight for database & server performance including leadership for SQL performance and tuning; Leads Oracle & SQL Server monitoring • Provides leadership with Oracle RDBMS features including Oracle client installation/AD integration • Provides guidance on change data capture and oversight of master data model • Serves as liaison with Enterprise Architect Office for architecture efforts, to align information architecture across the organization • Develops and documents methodology for collection, storage and control of data architecture and key system interfaces • Contributes to the organization's financial health by ensuring that business and goals are a major partof evaluating the performance of projects and solutions, in conjunction with business analysts and other stakeholders • Manages technology selection criteria in conjunction with technical architects and designers • Works closely with other IT groups to support reporting projects and services • Rationalizes all current business architecture activities for consistency and possible redundancy • Evaluates and recommends tools and practices for proactive data warehouse development effectively anticipating the needs of future BI/Analytics product and services delivery. • Builds and maintains relationships with a wide variety of internal organizations (business owners, practices) to understand current and future information and data needs and strategy • Builds and maintains relationships with a wide variety of key vendors • Builds and maintains relationships with other architects and technology leaders and understand future strategy • Provides leadership to project and technical staff for system design and implementation, as appropriate • Develops data/information framework and ensures compliance with standards • Mentors, trains and develops less experienced staff and project/business personnel who need to understand Data Warehouse Architecture processes • Defines and delivers consistent information standards, methodologies, guidelines and techniques • Ensures compliance to standards through consistent engagement of non-conforming parties with a view toward reducing non-conformance • Plans for data consolidation and information lifecycle management in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders
