Job description

The position plays a key role in customer satisfaction for Perioperative Services and the Institution. The major job function is to provide services to our families and ensure communication between the physician and the Perioperative Services staff. This individual has to resolve problems on a daily basis and functions as a patient/family
representative. This job requires multi-tasking responsibilities and problem resolution. It requires excellent customer service to our families which is essential in marketing the image and mission of the Institution.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects 50lbs and over; regularly standing or walking with objects 10-25lbs; regularly sitting at computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittent risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and occasional risk of cuts and/or punctures.


Weekend 7a-7p Sat/Sun 2-8 hours during week; some holidays required per departmental needs.


The ideal candidate will have an excellent medical terminology background; be well organized; exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); enjoy working closely with their co-workers in a supportive team environment; outstanding computer skills; and above average customer service skills.

Hospital or medical setting experience preferred.
