University Business Administrators Accounting Representative

This position is located at the Central Office of the University Business Administrators Program (UBA).
This position serves as an apprentice accountant and is responsible for serving as financial and administrative support staff for all participating UBA client sites and the UBA Central Office.
Responsible for the reconciliation, accountability, maintenance, and reporting of department ledgers for UBA sites. Assists with business functions related to human resource transactions, travel, purchasing and accounts payable at the client sites.
Conducts specific audits to review budgeting, accounting, personnel and payroll activities for participating units of the UBA assuring compliance with University, state and federal regulations, policies and procedures.
Responsible for or assists with special projects related to operational efficiencies of participating UBA sites. Complies and prepares financial data using complex financial reports. Responsible for performing a wide variety of standard administrative and office support duties.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to perform work accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Experience performing assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience compiling financial data and preparing reports.
Experience working with applicable computer applications.
Knowledge of basic accounting systems and practices.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University policies and procedures.
Anticipated Salary Range
Commensurate with experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
