Evening & Weekend Service Desk Supervisor

Full/Part Time: Full-Time
This position is responsible for coordination of service desk services and staffing at Strozier Library during evenings and weekends. Processes and maintains course reserves and manages website and online shared storage for the department.
Supervises OPS employees assigned to staff service desks in Strozier Library. Hires, trains, and manages part time staff. Coordinates workflow and coordinates circulation staffing covered during the evening and weekends for staff, OPS employees, and volunteers. Assists and plans staffing levels for University holidays, events, and special needs. Creates innovative patrons-focused service desk policies and procedures, while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
Develops and conducts innovative and interactive training session for service desk OPS employees and special service desk sessions for general library staff.
Assists with reference and virtual reference services.
Assists with labeling, recording and maintaining physical course reserve materials located at the service desk.
Provides departmental support for website and shared storage content.
Participates in Scholars Commons and/or Library promotional activities in order to support the Library. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years.
Customer service experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Anticipated Salary Range
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
