Minimum Education/Experience: Demonstrated work experience with multiple mass spectrometry platforms (i.e. LC-MS, MALDI-TOF MS, tandem MS) and detectors, sample preparation (including lipid and small-molecule extractions, tissue preparation), MS and MS/MS data analysis for metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics, and instrument maintenance. Ability to work in a collaborative environment (on and off campus). Demonstrated, extensive experience in methodology development and instrument use for a wide variety of applications. Ph.D. in a related field and 3 years post-doctoral training.

Job Duties: The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking a Research Assistant Professor experienced in mass spectrometry to conduct independent and collaborative research in the areas of proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics. Duties include aiding faculty members in designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, writing manuscripts and grants (intra- and extramural), maintaining instruments and training undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to contributing to collaborative research efforts within the Brody School of Medicine, the research assistant professor will also be expected to develop independent research projects in areas aligned with the core research mission of the Brody School of Medicine.
