Associate Director of Dining Operations
Senior administrative official in line responsible for directing a dept or sub-division and reports to a Director.
The Associate Director of Dining Operations for Kennesaw reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for food quality, dining experience, and financial stability of KSUs Kennesaw campus dining hall.
Department will be recruiting for an Associate Director of Dining Operations for each campus locations (Kennesaw and Marietta). Responsibilities include: Provide a superior dining hall experience and meal plan program that meets the lifestyle needs of students. Ensure that KSUs self-operated dining program provides exceptional food variety, quality and freshness. Oversees successful planning and implementation of the meal plan program, to include meal plan assessment, reporting, customer service. Oversees management of BlackBoard Transaction System. Assist and coordinate with Maintenance Manager and KSU Facilities to ensure the dining program has equipment that is well maintained, and functional at all times. Responsible for labor management of up to 175 full-time and part-time employees, to include hiring, employee relations, and scheduling. Participate with the Director of Operations and Senior Director in the development of the annual budgets and 5-year business plans. Responsible for meeting budget requirements for food and labor costs. Responsible for managing expenses, generating revenues, and the overall financial success of the dining program. Work with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food for the students. Implement new culinary programs and promotions in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team. Manage, train and develop staff. Associate Director of Campus Dining works hand-in-hand with Executive Director of Food Services in developing and maintaining the departmental budget and 5-year business plan. Oversees and manages all foodservice managers and supervisors, and overall personnel. This position requires credit history check due to access to secured financial information and fiscal responsiblity. This position requires a motor vehicle history check due to driving required to multi campus locations and off-site event sites. Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related work experience.
Minimum of 10 years experience desired in food service serving at an Assistant Director level or higher. Proficiency in HAACP. Serve Safe Certified. Must exhibit a professional level of written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of levels of internal and external customers. Must be a self-starter, work independently with low supervision. Superior customer service skills and leadership skills. This position must be skilled in critical thinking, relationship building and customer service. Addition desired skills include knowledge of MS Office Suite, Banner, Blackboard, PeopleSoft.
