The University of Colorado | Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Health Care Tech II/Front Desk Coordinator to work in the Department of Dermatology at the Boulder Clinic in Boulder, Colorado. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) for an experienced Tech. This position is responsible for assisting the CU Dermatology | Boulder physician by setting up, clearing and preparing patients room before and after each visit; cleaning equipment; providing basic patient monitoring, counseling and education; triaging phone calls, and assisting during procedures. This Tech will also be responsible for inventory control and disposals.
Additionally this role will act as a front desk coordinator which includes: greeting visitors at the front desk; performing all check-in activities; directing patients to the appropriate area; and scheduling appointments over the phone or in-person. This role will provide assistance with various insurance related activities such as referral and coverage verification, data entry of demographic information, scanning and filing, generating daily worksheets, new onset coordination, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Examples of Work Performed:
- Checks-in/checks out patients.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Collects co-pay information/documentation.
- Verifies and updates demographic and PCP information.
- Generates charge forms.
- Obtain referrals for visits as needed.
- Responsible for rooming patients for provider(s), which will include but is not limited to obtaining and documenting patient histories, taking vitals, photography, etc.
- Provides assistance and directs visitors to the appropriate clinic personnel.
- Preparing for skin assessments, minimally invasive and surgical procedures.
- Assisting physician(s) in all clean and sterile procedures.
- Cleaning exam rooms between patients.
- Obtaining consent forms for procedures.
- Answers incoming phone calls.
- Responds to and/or triages inquiries.
- Telephone triage and follow up.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

- Completed an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) program.
- One (1) year of experience working in a medical/clinic setting.
Substitution: Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Conditions of Employment:

- Wear appropriate safety equipment when handling biological samples and hazardous chemicals.
- Work within a high-level secured facility.
- Professional experience working in a Dermatology Clinic.
- Experience setting up sterile and non-sterile procedure trays and medical procedure rooms.
- Experience with medical/clinical inventory control and disposal.
- Experience answering phones and triaging inquiries.
- Experience working with general office equipment (fax, copier, shredder, scanner, telephone, etc.).
- Bi-lingual preferred, Spanish speaking highly desired.
