JOB DETAILS:

POSITION: Two positions are available in Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) as follows:

  • A full-time professional academic staff position (renewable) beginning in early June 2018. The working title for this assignment is Digital Marketing Specialist with an official title of Marketing Specialist. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • A full-time university staff Project position beginning July 1, 2018, and concluding June 30, 2019. . The working title for this assignment is Marketing Specialist with Web Emphasis with an official title of Marketing Specialist. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • For the professional academic staff position, a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required along with excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; an understanding of search engine optimization. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience in marketing copywriting and writing for the web; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
  • For the one-year Project position, excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; an understanding of search engine optimization and experience writing copy for the web are required. Preferred qualifications are a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred along with demonstrated experience in marketing copywriting and writing for the web; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

DUTIES:

For the professional academic staff position:

Reporting to the digital marketing manager, this position is responsible for supporting UW-Eau Claire's strategic marketing initiatives for student recruitment, retention, reputation and fundraising through helping implement digital marketing strategies.
  • Serve in a consultant role to university faculty and staff (clients) to determine web content needs that are consistent with marketing and communications goals of the university, and that distinguish UW-Eau Claire from other universities.
  • Obtain existing assets from clients and strategize the development of new assets.
  • Write marketing content for university web pages.
  • Organize and categorize content to follow the existing site maps of the website.
  • Work with photo liaison in IMC to secure photo and video assets.
  • Use analytics to put together reporting on key performance indicators to help evaluate the success of digital marketing efforts.
  • Work with developers to continue to improve functionality and SEO of website.
  • Work with vendors on other digital channels as needed.

For the one year Project position:

  • Organize and categorize content to follow the existing site maps of the website.

THE UNIT: The unit of Integrated Marketing and Communications consists of team members specializing in public information, media relations, design, marketing and multimedia content creation. More information can be found at uwec.ly/imc.
