Job description

Duties: Provides technical, analytical, and statistical support to multiple research projects conducted within the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research. Under the general direction and supervision of the Center Director the Programmer/Analyst is responsible for helping with the Center's analytic functions. The position will manage the collective database, apply advanced statistical techniques, give specialized computer programming support, and provide general assistance for all statistical needs of the research team.

Qualifications: BS degree and 2 - 3 yrs. minimum experience or equivalent combination of education and experience as a data analyst or statistical programmer in a research environment, preferably in health services. Demonstrated competence in analytical approaches, and computer application in the health field; experience working with large data bases and statistical analytical software (preferably SAS and STATA); strong organizational and communication skills; the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary research team. Extensive experience working with large datasets, combining data from a multitude of sources and using the dataset to measure performance required; experience with observational studies and experimental design required.
