Job Summary:

Research Specialist in a systems neuroscience lab, focused on decision making and motor control in rodents. Specialist will participate in many aspects of research: handling animals, running experiments, performing surgery, supporting students, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Train mice in decision-making and motor behavioral paradigms.
  • Design novel behavioral paradigms.
  • Perform rodent surgeries.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Oversee the management of equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct literature reviews, participate in writing reports and manuscripts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory policies.
  • Other duties as needed.


Additional Requirements

Education, Experience and Certifications:

Education:
  • BS/BA Preferred


Experience:
  • One-year relevant research experience preferred
  • Strong background in animal behavior preferred
  • Strong background in systems neuroscience preferred
  • Programming experience preferred
  • Experience with rodents preferred
  • Experience with optical imaging, electrophysiology and/or computational methods preferred
