The Title IX Coordinator serves as the institution's key resource in the oversight of compliance efforts consistent with Robert Morris University's Policy on Sexual Misconduct and Relationship Violence; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus Save). The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for assisting and educating the campus community regarding its obligations under Title IX, and serves as the primary internal resource for Title IX complaints.
Case Management: A. Conducts or oversees the intake, investigation, processing, issuing of findings of fact, and timely resolution of all Title IX complaints made known to responsible employees and/or reported or filed by students, faculty, staff, third parties, or members of the community. B. Works collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel, Vice President of Student Life, Public Safety, Human Resources, and other divisions and departments, as needed, regarding complaint referrals, investigations, resolutions, and reporting. C. Recruits, trains and provides leadership to faculty and staff who serve as institutional advocates, investigators and complaint assessment panel members as necessary and/or appropriate.
A Master's degree in a related area from an accredited institution is required.
- A. Administering and coordinating a comprehensive program addressing Title IX or other higher education-related compliance;
- B. Investigating, adjudicating, and/or resolving allegations of sex discrimination and/or employment discrimination, sexual violence, or student misconduct;
- C. Designing, facilitating, providing and evaluating age and audience appropriate training on the prevention of sex discrimination, employment discrimination and/or sexual violence.
