The Assistant Athletics Director, Marketing and Event Experience is responsible for the creating a first-class experience for all University of Miami athletics events. This role requires a dynamic, highly passionate, hard-working individual with a primary focus on in-game atmosphere. This is a management position that hires, trains and supervises the members of the marketing department. Candidate must be extremely creative and detail-oriented. Must foster good relationships with internal and external partners. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Miami, Atlantic Coast Conference and the NCAA.

Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the oversight and development of a comprehensive in-game and special event plan for the 18 intercollegiate sports at the University of Miami.
•Oversee and train the marketing staff.
•Heighten the fan experience through an enhanced in-game experience.
•Manage all elements of game presentation including PA announcer, mascot and on-field/court entertainment, etc.
•Develop production script and direct every aspect of the game presentation for all football and men’s basketball games.
•Oversee the development of graphic, animated and video packages for video and ribbon boards.
•Work with Hurricane Sports Properties to ensure fulfillment and activation of Athletics’ corporate partnerships.
•Book talent for halftimes and national anthem.
•Assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director in the management of the marketing budgets.
•Coordinate with various departments inside and outside of the department as necessary.
•Oversee the Hurricanes cheer and dance teams.
•Serve as athletics department liaison to the Band of the Hour.
•Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
•Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University.
•Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership and achievement in sports marketing for intercollegiate or professional sports organization(s).
•Previous management experience.
•Ability to train, coach, and motivate the marketing staff.
•Proactive and detail oriented with strong follow-up skills.
•Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required by schedule of events.

Preferred:
•Master’s degree.
