Position Summary:

Incumbent serves as a resource for the benefits, workers' compensation and disability management related functions for the Medical Center. The incumbent manages leaves and provides guidance to employees, managers, and HR professionals and others on leave policy interpretation and administration while effectively resolving issues through resolution. The incumbent provides health, welfare, and retirement benefit information, serving as a liaison between insurance carriers, TPA's and employees. Incumbent performs specialized administrative and organizational support to the team.

Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $23.90 Midpoint $32.16 Maximum $40.42

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Bachelors' degree in relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information in a discreet and professional manner

Demonstrated advanced computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office

Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and composure to coordinate multiple assignments/projects simultaneously with efficiency and timeliness

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge of and ability to analyze, interpret and apply insurance regulations, plan documents and federal and state laws including Family Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disability Act.

Minimum of two years' administrative analysis work experience

Minimum one year recent experience in the administration of health and welfare benefits and worker's compensation

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

Human Resources experience

Knowledge of the University of California's health and welfare and retirement plans

Previous experience in Workers' Compensation or a closely related field such as a third party administrator/carrier
