Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Admissions Department Assistant Director, incumbent is responsible for managing and maintaining the24/7 operations, planning, allocation, and evaluation of the Emergency Department Registration Department. Acts as central control point for Emergency Registration issues. Coordinates all Registration systems implementation. Communicates with patients, physicians, staff and visitors, demonstrating caring and reflect the UC Irvine Healthcare Mission and Strategic Plan. Coordinates staff training, development and unit management. Responsibilities are expected either independently or with minimal direction by Admissions Department Assistant Director.

Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $60,400.00 Maximum $102,200.00

Required Qualifications:

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to problem solve, prioritize and organize work

Demonstrated ability to monitor productivity

Demonstrated knowledge of managed care, commercial and government benefits and billing guidelines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Minimum 3 years managerial experience with demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of QUEST, Invision, Passport and BMS systems
