Position Summary
The Coach Intern reports to the Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse. The successful candidate will be responsible to assist the head coach in all aspects of the program, including: recruit qualified student-athletes; assist in practice sessions and in-game duties; counsel student-athletes in a positive manner; and adhere to all NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. Coach Intern positions are typically 1 year appointments renewable up to a maximum 3 years total.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include the direct leadership, and development of the men's lacrosse team.
  • Assist in meet management
  • Identify and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes
  • Assist with designing pre-season, in-season and off-season training schedules
  • Maintain working knowledge of NCAA, Landmark Conference, and Susquehanna University policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics

    Required Qualifications
    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
    Ability to teach skills and tactics of the game; Knowledge of the rules of the game; Ability to demonstrate skills and teach game concepts; Ability to communicate clearly with student athletes.

    Bachelor's Degree required as well as a valid driver's license.

    Physical Demand
    Must have the energy and mobility to actively coach the sport.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Coaching or competitive collegiate experience in the events of lacrosse preferred.
