Admin Support III - University Marketing and Communications

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Under the general direction of the Sr. Director, performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some of which require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills, such as budget administration and facilities, and inventory management, specialized record keeping and database management, and/or specified information-gathering projects and tasks. Coordinates and facilitates meetings, program functions, and/or special events, as appropriate. Trains and oversees lower graded staff and/or students.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Knowledge of some HTML or experience updating websites.
  • Knowledge of budgeting procedures, financial record keeping, and procurement.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Office Suite a plus.
  • Skills in office methods, techniques, practices & procedures.
  • Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and databases.
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Skills in record management.
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow oral and written procedures & instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet and work with the people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to coordinate and assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental financial transactions.
  • Ability to work independently on a multi-task level, prioritize and follow projects through to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, standing and walking. Continuous need to see, hear, and speak. Frequent fine hand manipulation typical of computer work. Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Pay Range: $25,665 to $32,082 annually
