: Instructor and Curriculum Chair – Paralegal (Tenure Track)

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  Department of Criminal Justice and Paralegal/School of Business and Professional Careers

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The School of Business and Professional Careers seeks a highly motivated and energetic full-time instructor to teach a variety of paralegal courses and serve as the Curriculum Chair of the Paralegal AAS and certificate programs. This role includes, but is not limited to: defining and assessing program and course objectives, coordinating adjunct faculty, assisting with course scheduling, advising students, preparing graduation audits, directing student internships, leading the program review process, and completing all of the reporting requirements related to the American Bar Association’s accreditation procedures (https://www.americanbar.org/content/dam/aba/administrative/paralegals/ls_prlgs_2013_paralegal_guidelines.authcheckdam.pdf).

Innovative and enthusiastic professionals with demonstrated experience in instructional technology and student-centered approaches to course and program development, as well as strong organizational and communication skills are encouraged to apply.  In addition to a teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester and 5 office hours per week, faculty members are expected to actively participate in departmental, school, and college-wide committees and activities and demonstrate continuous professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A minimum of a Master’s degree in an appropriate academic discipline and one year of teaching experience is required.  Experience working with or as a paralegal is strongly preferred. A Juris Doctorate and current legal licensure are also strongly preferred.  Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with underrepresented students through teachingm mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.


SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $63,570 plus excellent benefits.
